This did not last long, as the Sahwa accused government security forces of carrying out further attacks against Sunni people in and around Baquba. Sahwa forces then cut all ties with government and occupation forces, and left their security posts.

But after March 1, the provincial government seems to have agreed to many of the demands made by the Sahwa. This development shows the increasing power the Sunni group has against the Shia-dominated government.

What happened to the people who seized the National Archives building demanding the criminal prosecution of the torturing and mass murdering Neo-Cons?

Here is the current (April 12, 2008) Google Search for:

Results 1 - 10 of about 26,400 for Iraq Veterans Against War seizes National Archives Building.

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=Iraq+Veterans+Against+War+seizes+National+Archives+Building

The following one reports a date for the event:

http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=65c_1207937683

IVAW members seize National Archives Building on March 19th, 2008 in front of hundreds of surprised museum visitors. Response from visitors including teachers, students, vacationers was highly positive though there were a few horrified faces in the crowd. IVAW read the terms of our Citizens Arrest Warrant and stood their ground for 90 minutes. They were allowed to leave without being arrested in one of the most spectacular CD events I've ever witnessed. Next stop was the Justice Department where the call for Bush and Cheney arrest was repeated, and then the White House where similar demands were made. This action comes on the heels of IVAW's Winter Soldier Investigation: Iraq and Afghanistan, held at the National Labor College in Silver Springs, M.D. on March 13-16, 2008, where these and many other vets from the Iraq and Afghanistan war testified about their experiences. Those testimonies may be heard by visiting their link here:

Scott Ewing, who served for three years as a cavalry scout in the U.S. army, described his unit's "block-by-block" raid of the entire city of Talafar in September of 2005. Ewing said tactics were particularly brutal in the Sarai neighborhood of the city, which the U.S. military had identified as an insurgent stronghold.  "We were told to search aggressively to teach the residents a lesson not to harbor terrorists," Ewing testified.  The result of those orders was doors kicked in, homes ransacked-and nothing found in the way of weapons.  The Army then moved northward, and continued to terrorize innocent Iraqis.
Ewing described one incident in which the military rounded up every male of military age and detained about 500 Iraqis in a barbed-wire enclosure as their families watched across the street. A "masked man," as Ewing described him, then walked the line of detained Iraqis and gave either a thumbs-up or thumbs-down.  In the end, 50 men were zip tied and taken away, with the crimes they were accused of written on their hands.  Ewing said he had no idea what happened next to these 50 men .  "It's hard for me to believe," Ewing said, "that the Iraqis who witnessed this could take seriously our version of justice and democracy."

Ewing concluded his speech by noting, ironically, that "The only war our country has really waged well is a propaganda war on its own people."

We are supporting the troops and telling politicians in Washington that it's time to end the war in Iraq," union president Bob McEllrath said.

On Friday, July 25, 2008, the House Judiciary committee will finally hold a hearing about George W. Bush's excessive abuses and unconstitutional expansion of his executive powers. But Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers, a Democrat heeding the proclamation of Speaker Nancy Pelosi that impeachment is "off the table", has already declared that this hearing will not lead to impeachment. Conyers, Pelosi, and all members of Congress who oppose the impeachment of George W. Bush are betraying the oath they all swore when they took office and should be condemned for this betrayal. Following are the reasons why the impeachment of George W. Bush is necessary.

The action seeks relief against the defendant, Vice President Cheney, who will preside over the tabulation of "unbound electoral states" on January 6, 2009, challenging the recognition of Electoral College votes that are apportioned by states on a winner-take-all basis.

The civil action seeks enforcement of the 'Mal-Apportionment Penalty' provided in Section 2 of the 14th Amendment to the US Constitution, which mandates a reduction of a state's presidential electors and congressional representatives if "the right to vote at any election for the choice of electors for President and Vice President of the United States... is denied... or in any way abridge

The Green Party's national platform endorses a constitutional amendment abolishing the Electoral College and providing for the direct election of the president by instant runoff voting.

Reuters is looking for participants in a new mobile journalism project that will capture this year’s conventions from the ground up. We will be equipping attendees with video cameras, and helping them to shoot footage from their own perspective and upload it to Reuters.com and other sites.

We hope to capture an unseen side of the conventions, from those most involved — delegates, donors, convention volunteers and others. Unfortunately we can’t provide passes into the conventions. But if you already have plans to attend, or know someone who does, email reutersmojo@gmail.com for more details.
