In his inauguration speech, Unger said that the country did no longer have to "kneel" before international organizations, like the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
He said Brazil is currently experiencing "a magical moment," in which the "starving" part of the population is showing that it is necessary to "reinvent" development.
He added that the generation of opportunities will boost such development, and spoke of the construction of a "new Brazil."
