http://www.lewrockwell.com/shaffer/shaffer147.html The Voting Ritual “To create a system which, by definition, enjoys a legal monopoly on the use of force, and then allow that system to become the judge of its own authority, is an error of such enormity that one can only wonder why grown men and women would be surprised to discover such powers being “abused.” Creating the system is the abuse. Directing our criticism to members of the present cast while overlooking the backers of the play – who have substitute performers waiting in the wings – exceeds the bounds of innocence. It is like placing a bowlful of candy in front of a number of small children, and expecting the candy not to be touched in your absence.” What is the ballot? It is neither more nor less than a paper representative of the bayonet, the billy, and the bullet. It is a labor-saving device for ascertaining on which side force lies and bowing to the inevitable. The voice of the majority saves bloodshed, but it is no less the arbitrament of force than is the decree of the most absolute of despots backed by the most powerful of armies. ~ Benjamin R. Tucker http://www.lewrockwell.com/north/north485.html Something for Nothing by Gary North "Necessity is the mother of invention." "Subsidies are the father of stagnation." Of all the mindsets that keep people from attaining a level of success that matches their capabilities, this one is by far the most crippling: "something for nothing." Speak not in the ears of a fool: for he will despise the wisdom of thy words (Proverbs 23:9). |

"The mark of a productive system is its resistance to wheedling. The closer it comes to the principle of "value given for price received," the more it encourages productivity." I can't agree with that. "value given for value received" is called equity. Price can be 'something for nothing'. |

"Rich people know this, so they distance themselves from these people. Rich people know that their advice will not be taken, or if taken, will be applied incorrectly. So, poor boys then seek information from others in their own circle. But everyone in this circle is struggling." Knowing how to "PROFIT" is knowing how to 'get someting for nothing' and "rich people" know that 'everybody' cannot "Profit" from everyone else, therefore, the 'poor' must be 'excluded' from the 'something for nothing' scheme. I made a mistake in linking this garbage. I tried to get something for nothing when the title appeared to suggest that wisdom existed in the text. I did gain from my error. Next time I know to be more diligent in looking before leaping. "Rich people know this, so they distance themselves from these people. Look here: http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article8171.htm And read this: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0006BWUSI Gary North wrote: "The government is not here to help you." Not unless your rich enough to get a 'piece of the action'. Did it ever occur to Gary North (I've tried to get something for something in exchange with Gary North and my thinking is that he thought there was nothing for him to gain in the endeavor), did it ever occur to him, that some people will not choose to 'profit' from others when their only choice is the 'profit' from others or die a desperate and pitiful meek and useless slow depressing death? JOIN the INTEREST/PROFT/WAGE paying SYSTEM or die trying to avoid it. What a loser. Those people who Gary North 'helps' could use less 'help' from him - in my opinion. I can only go by what I read and as far as I am concerned, based upon my efforts to get 'help' from Gary North - I'm not worth the effort. Well that's too bad for me. I'll never be rich! I am a loser. Good for me. |
