So, having said that, we have dark days in front of us. We have impending climate and economic disaster and on top of that a political military issue, the so-called Shield. There isn't hardly a person in the world who believes it is against Iran. It is a part of a policy started in 1996, counter-posing against each other, on the one hand NATO and AMPO (the US-JAPAN arrangement), and on the other hand the SCO countries, the biggest alliance in human history: the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, with 6 full members and 3 observers. The 6 members are China, Russia and four of the former Central Asian republics, excluding Turkmenistan. The three observers are India, Pakistan and Iran. Together, it's about 50% of humanity, confronting a relatively small country called the United States of America, with only 300'000'000, not a very impressive size these days. Those bases are for the coming war with SCO, that's why they are there. Have a look at the analysis of the length of the runways and you will see the purpose behind them.
Let me come back for a second to the idea of pulling out, which in my mind is such a bad idea that we could expect it from the US. What it means is that you pull out so that you don't suffer any humiliating defeat. You make yourself unavailable for defeat. I can understand the reason, it is not difficult. The 30th April 1975, the humiliating defeat in Vietnam became a major trauma. To avoid that situation is the priority of course, pulling out better than to continue killing, but, I just think one should call a spade a spade, and no way I see cut and run as peaceful action. We shouldn't, I would say, contaminate the concept of peace with cowardice, trying to "save face" after having killed 750'000 so far. Multiply that by 10 for the bereaved--the persons who feel the loss of a friend, a spouse, a brother, a sister, a child, a parent, a colleague, a neighbor--multiply 750'000 by 10 and you have an estimate of the hatred that has been created. Add to that the 4 million who are displaced, some of them among the 7,5 million I just mentioned; and add to that the psychosis induced in the high number of US military who have been to Iraq; and add to that the about 25'000 wounded who have come back to the US and you may probably add 10% of them dying. The definition of a person of the US army personnel killed in the war is that he dies in Iraq, that means "Put them on the plane get them to Walter Ried as quickly as possible, don't let them die in Iraq". I am not saying that to get somewhere closer to realism when discussing this enormity.

From global capitalism as it is operating today, we can expect no solution to these problems. So let me then add the kind of approach that I, as one person, would advocate; taming capitalism, by introducing at the same time about 14 other types of economies. In other words, it is a little bit like the thinking about energy: we don't say an unconditional no to hydrocarbons, but we introduce 6, 7, 8 other methods. The energy profile becomes complex. Time does not permit me to get into all 14, I'll not do it, some of you have the manuscript and the book A Life-Sustaining Economy is close to completion. The point I am arguing is a pluralistic economy. There is no single formula that covers all the alternatives, and the pluralistic profile must be adjusted to the preconditions in space and time.
From the plans that have emerged it looks as if the 100'000 targets have been identified in Iran. These targets include not only some nuclear arrangements, but the total military infrastructure of the country, that means any kind of center of command, naval points, air bases, anything that has to do with missiles. But that would only amount to one half of the 100'000 targets, the other targets would be anything that has to do with civilian infrastructure in the sense of railroads, airports, roads of course, sewerage, bridges, canals or watering, electric power plants, anything that keeps the civilian population going. Starting at 5 am some morning, 100'000 targets, in association with Israel. As far as I understand the Iranian counterattack will be considerable. I don't know, but I could guess there could be dirty bombs inside the US, ignited by remote control. Only an idiot will use missiles. They will of course use totally different methods. So I mention it as an example of what we may be facing.
But leaving that point aside, I think China is one of the least likely successor candidates. On my list, candidate number one is the European Union. You need a sense of universalism, China has nothing of that. They are still convinced that it is surrounded by barbarians. They are willing to buy quite a lot. The annual global income is 54 trillion dollars, and China's reserves are more than one trillion. The US currency reserves right now amount to 47 billion, which is nothing. That means when you want 100 billion for more fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan, you have to take more loans. That they get those loans is something still a little bit strange, but they do pay something in return, namely access to the US markets. So, having said that, a likely successor is the European Union, very universalist, with the 11 major colonial powers all members, and all concerned about their part of the world. And they are willing to say "I'll not protest if you do something in your part if you'll not protest when I do something in my part". It is European political common market. There is much more to the European Union, but this is one important aspect.
In a regional world we do not have any guarantee for peace. As a matter of fact, the country that will benefit most from the decline and fall of the US Empire will be the US Republic. They may start sleeping well at night, and they might use their enormous natural and human resources for innovative projects and their capacity for cooperation, all of that, for better purposes, and make a decent country out of the USA.

I sent the following to Mary and Kucinich:

http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article18047.htm

Mary,

Peace has to be won; wrestled from our own criminal tendencies.

The link above may be difficult to digest. My strong suggestion is to read it.

After that one, then, read this one:

http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article18048.htm

If our world will turn the corner, so to speak, it will need new blood. I mean this in a literal sense. Our species depends upon interconnectivity; like a circulatory system. Our currency is our blood.

Clearly, without any question, our current currency (the fed dollar) is a disease upon our society, where, our livelihood is drained from us; leaving us anemic.

When our species does turn the corner, again, it will need new blood; a transfusion.

This is almost too simple.

A new currency produced by a universal law (that doesn’t even need enforcement) can transform a dying social structure into a thriving one.

Step one:

The new currency can be used to pay taxes

Step two:

The new currency can be borrowed interest free to pay off primary residence mortgages.

Step three:

The new currency can be borrowed at 1% interest (financing the production and maintenance of the new currency) for home energy production loans (Solar, Wind, hydrogen, etc.).

Step four:

The new currency can be borrowed at 2% interest (more revenue to maintain the new currency) for vehicle purchases other than petroleum dependent vehicles.

Step five:
Defaults on loans increase personal currency costs i.e. Just like current credit ratings where interest rates increase for people with a history of failure to pay back loans.

If you have read the first two links and you find my comments to be somewhat less important, then, please reconsider the analogy between a human being and human society; both need blood.

Currency in society is necessary for society to incorporate three things:

1.
Specialization

2.
Division of Labor

3.
Economies of scale

Without those three things working in any social structure (even a simple family) there can be no survival of that social structure. Without those three things we are all ‘on our own’, where, everything we need, everything under the sun, we alone, individually, must produce our selves.

Currency is required (even a very inefficient barter currency) to create and maintain those three things. Currency is society’s blood.

No matter who is in charge of society, the law makers, the executers of law, the judges, no matter who, there must be a currency flowing through society. Without a currency flowing through society, just like the human body, parts will die.

When the dollar crashes (the infectious dollar) there must be something ready to replace it.

If the ‘leadership’ doesn’t know this, and isn’t prepared for this, then, it isn’t leadership.

We are digging our own graves with the current currency, and yet, if that current currency drains out of our society – we die – unless a transfusion of new blood is ready for immediate transfusion.

Individually, if you look at this, we can begin to get our transfusions flowing, just as described above, by paying off our mortgages, producing our own power at home, and investing in alternate energy consumption.

Peace must be won; it isn’t given.

Strategic Foresight

Call it a conspiracy theory or maybe just call it strategic foresight, but I see a frightening setup taking place. I see a strategic positioning of pieces. A closing in of a trap, and at this late date, there is little room for escape.

If current directions do not change, the ONLY prognition that ANYONE could make, is that come August we will be at war.

Sadly, I wrote about this 2 years ago. And many warned the public years ago.

The darkest part is that the war with Iran and possibly Pakistan, will equal the horror of the complete dismantling of the Constitutional Republic here at home.

The great experiment will come to an end.

Checkmate.

I also * foresaw a silver-lining, perhaps this will happen as well.

Feingold: Censure Bush, Cheney for 'their repeated assaults on the rule of law'

David Edwards

"Censure is about holding the administration accountable,” Feingold said in a press release sent to RAW STORY. "Congress needs to formally condemn the President and members of the administration for misconduct before and during the Iraq war, and for undermining the rule of law at home.

A grandiose plan to link Europe's electricity grids may recast wind power from its current role as a walk-on extra to being the star of the show

The Dollar needs help. When the competition invests in producing more power, then, the dollar power will decline.

It is that simple.

Invest in Power-Independence now or be dependent later.

Airtricity reckons that the first stage of this project, a 2,000 turbine-strong farm in the North Sea, would cost about €2 billion ($2.7 billion). That farm would generate 10 gigawatts. An equivalent amount of coal-fired capacity would cost around $2.3 billion so, adding in the environmental benefits, the project seems worth examining. Such offshore farms certainly work. Airtricity already operates one in the Atlantic, and though it currently has a capacity of only 25 megawatts, increasing that merely means adding more turbines.

2.7 Billion?

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-5823209513192072459

http://www.rumormillnews.com/cafr1/CAFR.htm
Every city, county, state, and the federal government openly talks about the "budget" but keeps a virtually hidden, SECOND SET OF BOOKS which track the investments and Enterprise ventures worth TRILLIONS of dollars in tangible wealth they have built up and are spending from these virtually hidden portfolios as a result of investing YOUR skimmed money for over  50 years in everything from real estate to the stock market.
Note: 1 Trillion is 100 Billion.

What is NOT CALCULATED is time.

Here:

An equivalent amount of coal-fired capacity would cost around $2.3 billion

Compared to what?

Airtricity reckons that the first stage of this project, a 2,000 turbine-strong farm in the North Sea, would cost about €2 billion ($2.7 billion). That farm would generate 10 gigawatts.

Please look at that and use your brain.

2.7 Billion is spent on producing a wind generating farm.

The farm wouild generate 10 gigawatts.

Do you know what that means?

I'm asking.

I think what is being accounted and calculated is an output RATE of 10 gigawatts of POWER per second.

Once the farm is up and running the Power generates. There will be remaining maintainance costs.

2.7 Billion is spent. 10 gigawatts come out. More cost is spent on maintaining the equipment. 10 gigawatts keep coming out. Years go by. The old Wind Mills wear out or become obsolete.

How much time passes before the 2.7 Billion Dollar Wind Farm is no longer producing 10 gigawatts of power?

10 years?

20 years?

30 years?

How much Power is produced in 10 years time?

10 gigawatts?

How much Power is produced in 20 years time?

10 gigawatts?

The answer is NO.

10 gigawatts is a RATE OF PRODUCTION.

The rate is either a rate per second, a rate per minute, or a rate per hour.

It doesn't matter which time factor is used so long as the factor is the same factor used to calculate the cost of other competetive investments of power to make power.

Here:

An equivalent amount of coal-fired capacity would cost around $2.3 billion

What does that mean?

Does that mean that it cost 2.3 Billion dollars to construct a coal-fired power plant and then add the cost of coal to produce a total amount of power equal to 10 gigawatts?

Is this the type of economic knowledge being taught by Central Bankers?

If the 2.3 number is a number accounting for the same cost to build a Coal Plant compared to the cost to build a Wind Power Plant, then, how much does it cost to maintain the Coal Plant compared to the Wind (or Solar) Plant?

The Coal Plant must be fed with Coal.

The Wind Plant must be fed with Wind.

How much does Coal cost?

How much does Wind cost?

The more Coal burnt the more the Earth Heats up and the More the Wind Blows.

Is this the type of ecomomic calculations that are being taught at the Austrian School of capitalist theory?

Think with your own brain.

The CAFR link tallies up over 1 trillion dollars of PROFIT as yet to be invested.

How many Wind farms can be built with that type of Purchasing Power?

100

100 times 10 gigawatts is 1000 gigawatts.

How much electric power does the U.S.A. consume?

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=How+much+electric+power+does+the+U.S.A.+consume%3F

That wasn't a great search but one link may suffice to find how much electric power consumed in the U.S.A.:

http://www.ornl.gov/info/ornlreview/rev26-34/text/colmain.html

Although adverse health effects from increased natural background radioactivity may seem unlikely for the near term, long-term accumulation of radioactive materials from continued worldwide combustion of coal could pose serious health hazards. Because coal combustion is projected to increase throughout the world during the next century, the increasing accumulation of coal combustion by-products, including radioactive components, should be discussed in the formulation of energy policy and plans for future energy use.

That isn't my consumption number needed but it does add to the cost calculation.

I've got work to do so this will have to wait.

Add a zero.

The question concerns one number. How much electricity is consumed by American's?

How much is the rate?

How much is the rate per second?

How much is the rate per hour?

How much is the rate per year?

How much total electricity is consumed per year?

How much will 2 trillion dollars worth of Wind Farm Investment increase the prodcution of electricity in America?

The following is cut and pasted from an e-mail:

WITH YOUR PARTICIPATION WE CAN HAVE AN IMPEACHMENT BREAKOUT

The mainstream corporate media would like to pretend that there is

nothing going on, but a 15th member of the House just signed on to

Kucinich's H.Res. 333 to impeach Dick Cheney first. 95,000 people

have already voted in the National Cheney Impeachment Poll, and no

matter how many times Pelosi protests that impeachment is off the

table, we can drive it like a truck right through the front picture

window. And this is how we are going to do it.

We have already shipped 6,000 "IMPEACH CHENEY?" caps and we want

EVERYONE who has voted in the Cheney impeachment poll to have one, so

that we can all be in the streets as a real time demonstration of our

mobilization on this issue. A donation is NOT required. We will send

you one for no charge, not even shipping, if you just email us back

with your address and request one. But if CAN make any kind of

donation, if only just a modest one, please submit this form.

CAP REQUESTS:
http://www.usalone.com/impeach_cheney_cap.php

Your donations allow us to run all the blog ads, pay for keeping up

the short code cell phone voting function, where all you have to do

is text the word "IMPEACH" to 30644 to vote Yes for Cheney

impeachment. Most importantly, when you wear one of these caps,

everyone you encounter will ask themselves the question "Should Vice

President Cheney be Impeached," which is the question our democracy

must answer.

In reacting to testimony of Alberto Gonzales yesterday under oath,

Time magazine was moved to write the headline "Gonzales Digs a Deeper

Hole". It would appear the game plan is to try to lie their way

through the next 18 months, to run out the clock until they can all

pardon themselves on the way out the door. But the one revelation

that DID come out of the Senate hearing was that Vice President

Cheney, on top of everything else, had been given unprecedented

authority to intervene in justice department probes.

Just this last Friday the Cheney White House REFUSED to give a member

of Congress access to the classified portions of two of these recent

presidential directives. They won't even let our representatives SEE

the complete terms of SECRET unconstitutional orders they are rushing

to put in place. So what will it take to get Congress to debate these

things, and actually confront a White House that is now issuing royal

decrees at a record pace in the form of sweeping executive orders

that presume to have legislative weight?

The last question we CAN answer. What it will take for Congress to

act is for us to get out there, and make the impeachment movement

visible, to engage so many of our friends and neighbors in a

discussion of the issue that we can no longer be ignored. That is

what the "IMPEACH CHENEY?" caps are designed to do. That is why we

want you to have one. Congress will not defy the will of the American

people, but first that will must be expressed. That is our job, to

facilitate the expression of that will. And we accept the job.

ALSO CONTRIBUTE TO DENNIS KUCINICH IF YOU CAN

We would not even have the impeachment movement we have now were it

not for the courageous leadership of Dennis Kucinich in bringing

forward H.Res. 333. If you can make a contribution to encourage him

to continue to stand strong on this issue, and so many others, you

can do it through this page.

KUCINICH DONATIONS:
http://www.usalone.com/donations_kucinich.php

Please take action NOW, so we can win all victories that are supposed

to be ours, and forward this message to everyone else you know.

If you would like to get alerts like these, you can do so at

Or if you want to cease receiving our messages, just use the function

The coming war on Iran, including the possibility of a nuclear attack, has already begun as a war by journalism. Count the number of times "nuclear weapons programme" and "nuclear threat" are spoken and written, yet neither exists, says the International Atomic Energy Agency. On 21 June, the New York Times went further and advertised an "urgent" poll, headed: "Should we bomb Iran?" The questions beneath referred to Iran being "a greater threat than Saddam Hussein" and asked: "Who should undertake military action against Iran first... ?" The choice was "US. Israel. Neither country".

Suppose for the sake of argument that the China Threat theorists have their way. Suppose they succeed in using Taiwan independence as a pretext to launch a "preventive" war of aggression against a peacefully developing China. Suppose they "win" such a war. Suppose they succeed in their quest to "contain China" and set China's development back 30, 40, even 50 years.

What then?

What will Neoconservative China Threat theorists do when another Great Exterminator hurtles toward earth, and they realize too late that crucial Chinese space technology, complementing US and Russian space technology, might have been able to intercept an asteroid or comet and ensure the survival of the human race, including 290 million Americans?

http://www.b612foundation.org/

  • Asteroid and comet impacts have both destroyed and shaped life on Earth since it formed.
  • The Earth orbits the Sun in a vast swarm of near Earth asteroids (NEAs).
  • The probability of an unacceptable collision in this century is ~2%.
  • We now have the capability to anticipate an impact and to prevent it.

Congress to use its Constitutional powers peacefully to drag the president back to reality. He must face his responsibilities and assume them himself – take back from Cheney, Petraeus, and the neocons the duties that are his alone, and face the music: he must take the credit, or the blame, himself.

Every American who cares about our troops should watch this film. Everyone who cares about the innocent civilians who live in the countries where these weapons are used should watch this film. And everyone who cares about the hatred of Americans that may result from the effects of our government's actions in using these weapons, should watch this film. Is there a cover-up?

He Fan, an official at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, went even further today, letting it be known that Beijing had the power to set off a dollar collapse if it choose to do so.

"China has accumulated a large sum of US dollars. Such a big sum, of which a considerable portion is in US treasury bonds, contributes a great deal to maintaining the position of the dollar as a reserve currency. Russia, Switzerland, and several other countries have reduced the their dollar holdings.

"China is unlikely to follow suit as long as the yuan's exchange rate is stable against the dollar. The Chinese central bank will be forced to sell dollars once the yuan appreciated dramatically, which might lead to a mass depreciation of the dollar," he told China Daily.

The threats play into the presidential electoral campaign of Hillary Clinton, who has called for restrictive legislation to prevent America being "held hostage to economic decicions being made in Beijing, Shanghai, or Tokyo".

Strategic thinkers, if any remain who have not been purged by neocons, will quickly conclude that China’s power over the value of the dollar and US interest rates also gives China power over US foreign policy. The US was able to attack Afghanistan and Iraq only because China provided the largest part of the financing for Bush’s wars.

If China ceased to buy US Treasuries, Bush’s wars would end. The savings rate of US consumers is essentially zero, and several million are afflicted with mortgages that they cannot afford. With Bush’s budget in deficit and with no room in the US consumer’s budget for a tax increase, Bush’s wars can only be financed by foreigners.

No country on earth, except for Israel, supports the Bush regimes’ desire to attack Iran. It is China’s decision whether it calls in the US ambassador, and delivers the message that there will be no attack on Iran or further war unless the US is prepared to buy back $900 billion in US Treasury bonds and other dollar assets.

Goading Xerxes: A New Tactical Twist in the Coming War on Iran

by Chris Floyd

An American strike on Iran is coming closer. It probably won't take place in the next few weeks, because Bush is on vacation and will not want to be disturbed. And it probably won't take the form that many have expected (including this writer).

Just for your information:

The effort to injure innocent Iranians is motivated by the power struggle over monopoly control of currency.

Who has the power to print legal money?

If you can't understand this yet, then, think about your own power to print money and imagine having the power to print money on a global scale.

Is that a power worth killing innocent people over?

Case in point:

http://www.lewrockwell.com/orig8/wallach1.html

Market volatility in recent days prompts one to ask, "Just what is going on here?"

The quick answer is that Federal Reserve manipulation of the money supply causes these crisis periods when previously available Fed money is no longer available.

My rough calculation suggests that over the last two days the Federal Reserve has pumped in enough new reserves to increase the money supply by somewhere between 10% and 15%.

The quotes above come from an "Austrian Economics" professor. This type of professor involves two main camps. One camp intends to fraud and force their agenda upon everyone else and the other camp intends to accurately identify the facts and utilize the facts in a manner that can produce prosperity for posterity. If you don’t know which camp the professor is in, then, it may be a good idea to find out.

I’ll send him an e-mail linking this page.

In an effort to help identify the split in 'camps' among the Austrian Economists I can link one such explanation:

And this:

http://www.lewrockwell.com/north/north512.html

WHAT IS THE SOLUTION?

In theory, there are two possible solutions, neither of which has any possibility of being implemented in my lifetime or yours.

One solution is free banking. This was Ludwig von Mises’ suggestion. There would be no bank regulation, no central bank monopolies, no bank licensing, and no legal barriers to entry. Let the most efficient banks win! In other words, the solution is a free market in money.

Another solution is 100% reserve banking. Banks would not be allowed to issue more receipts for gold or silver than they have on deposit. Anything else is fraud. There would be regulation and supervision to make sure deposits matched loans. This was Murray Rothbard’s solution. The question is: Regulation by whom? With what authority?

There would be no government-issued money. There would be no government mint. There would be no legal tender laws. There would be no barriers to entry into coin production.

There would also be no free services. There is no such thing as a free lunch.

Anything other than free banking or 100% reserve banking is a pseudo-gold standard or silver standard. It is just one more invitation to confiscation.

There is no organized movement today to establish either free banking or 100% reserve banking. There has never been a movement to impose 100% reserve banking. It has been well over a century since a handful of economists and pamphlet writers recommended free banking.

Anyone who tells you that it would be easy to switch over to a gold standard has either no understanding of the politics of money and banking or else has been smoking some funny-smelling leaves.

To switch by official decree to a non-governmental banking system would require the wholehearted co-operation of central bankers, commercial bankers, politicians, academic economists, and political parties, all of which have a vested interest in controlling the money supply at the expense of the public. They fear above all the depositors’ ability to bring down the entire international cartel through bank runs.

These bank runs would create massive deflation, international depression, and the collapse of the division of labor.

This:

One solution is free banking.

The above is an example of currency. The sentence above is currently being re-issued, re-published, and currently transferring from the source of the issue to the new receiver (reader) of the currency. What does that currency say – exactly?

That sentence says something exact. It says something specific. It contains no falsehood whatsoever. There isn’t any room for misunderstanding.

NO FALSEHOOD.

Compare that to this:

Another solution is 100% reserve banking.

To each their own. The reader will choose either A or B.

Again:

This is choice A:
One solution is free banking.

This is choice B:

Another solution is 100% reserve banking.

To each their own and beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Make no mistake concerning my 'eye', my 'own', and into which 'camp' I belong.

The solution to the problem is FREE BANKING.

The problem is choice B.

Make no mistake. If you choose A you allow B. If you choose B, and get this straight, you fraud and force A into a STATE of discredit; you "outlaw" choice A.

If you choose A, then, B can compete JUST like any other free bank. If you choose B, then, you set in motion the force required to destroy choice A.

Is this not simple?
