When I find reports and opinions written by Dahr Jamail I read them and my respect for his objectivity, accuracy, and moral integrity is, so far, reinforced. The man must be possessed of great courage and will. That is my opinion. The facts speak for themselves. Compare, for example, the "opinions" offered by a "Reporter": The United States is concerned the Lebanese army will be not able or willing to stop the resupply of Hezbollah and is not convinced that a bolstered U.N. peacekeeping force could do the trick either. That is akin to believing that "A Corporation" can be responsible for prosperity or accountable for debt, misery, or pollution. The concept is based upon a falsehood known as "Limited Liability". People, not Corporations, or STATES, are responsible. Falsehood intends to remove accountability. B. "peacekeeping force" is a falsehood that intends to hide naked aggression. C. "will be not able or willing" could be written as: "cannot or will not" and that observation supports a conclusion that the "Reporter" is either ignorant or willfully deceptive. Flip a coin? Back to Dahr Jamail: A Widely Misunderstood Group While the mainstream media have taken it as fact that the Hezbollah raid occurred inside Israel, many Arab outlets claim the Israelis actually entered Lebanon before being attacked. The exact location of the clash remains in dispute. Red Cross ambulances, governmental emergency centers, UN peacekeeping forces and observers, media outlets, and mobile phone towers have all been bombed, each a violation of international law. Mosques and churches have been hit; illegal weapons such as cluster bombs and white phosphorous used; and, as far as can be told at this early point, over 90% of the victims killed have been civilians. "UN peacekeeping forces"? What happens when a person is duped into believing in falsehood? My answer: A heavy cost, at least, bombed into oblivion or worse. At the headquarters of the Syrian Red Crescent, you can still see a plaque from the Red Cross thanking them for their efforts assisting Hurricane Katrina victims. When I asked about it, one of the volunteers told me Syria had donated medical supplies to aid the desperate residents of New Orleans. I did not donate to aid the desperate residents of New Orleans. That, my friends, is a confession of ignorance, apathy, and rationalization. At least, I thought, and still think, I'm not supporting the STATE that may confiscate whatever I can manage to earn and donate. I must remain strong, I think, before I can pretend to be generous. The hope of mankind rests in the hands of people who know better than I, it seems, since I am not so strong as to be able to donate aid beyond my immediate family. May God forgive my faults? I can't. When this war finally ends, the societal, economic, and environmental destruction will undoubtedly be staggering -- it already is -- as well as long-lasting; but it will pale in comparison to the psychological damage which has already been done. Rather than sowing the seeds of a future peace, it's painfully clear to an observer that the seeds of everlasting bloodshed, resentment, and resistance are now sprouting amid the ruins. As it turns out, they have indeed changed the psychology of Lebanon -- and possibly of the region. Just not in ways they ever imagined. Just in proportion to fact. Believing in lies is risky business. God, in my opinion, is no less than THE TRUTH. Judgment day, in my opinion, is current with time and not some future reality. The reaping is now. The sowing will be a future NOW. Knowing how to avoid a very real possible future holocaust requires a current understanding of responsibility. Journalists offer information from the current source.
