REP. DENNIS KUCINICH: Well, you know, I mean, the New York Times has yet to discover that I’m a candidate. I could -- if I suddenly catch fire in New Hampshire, where we’re running fourth and closing in on third place, I would imagine that I could even win the election, and the New York Times would have a big story about second, third, and fourth place and fail to mention that I won.
There is an attempt by the media to manage this election, to try to determine the outcome of the election prior to the people casting votes. It’s just another way to try to defeat the public interest and to make of the election a kind of a farce.
You know, all I need is an opportunity to debate Senator Clinton on the war. She has voted for the war. She voted to fund the war. She wants to stay in Iraq through 2013. And, frankly, her positions aren’t much different than Barack Obama’s, John Edwards’s. I mean, when I break into the top three, the whole election changes. And I’m working on that.
I realize I’m a long shot. I don’t have any delusions about that. But I also know that right now democracy is a long shot in America, and I realize that our constitutional protections are kind of a long shot. So I’m willing to take that stand, and I think that the people of New Hampshire are going to have an opportunity to append the political process by voting for my candidacy, which will give them a chance to have a voice and a consistent supporter, not just of peace and workers' rights and healthcare for all, but of the basic constitutional principles that brought us together to form a nation so many years ago.

Humor is precious; however - people may find it hard to laugh when tortured and murdered.
The 'Evil Empire' is upon us people. Wake up before it is too late.
Amy, while we’re still on the air, there’s something I want to mention to you that I think is really important. Last night I was reading the Defense Authorization Bill, and there is a section in the bill that I want to read to you: Section 1615 requires the Secretary of Defense to, one, “determine the military-unique capabilities needed to be provided by the Department of Defense to support civil authorities in an incident of national significance or a catastrophic incident.” And then it goes on to say provide funds to develop a plan. What’s going on in this country? How can we stand by and see our basic liberties undermined?

Now the behind-the-scenes partisan maneuvering that preceded that vote was arcane indeed, with Kucinich first exercising a member’s privilege motion to present his stymied impeachment bill to the full House, only to have Speaker Nancy Pelosi arrange for a colleague (Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-MD) offer a motion to table it. The Republicans, anxious to embarrass the Speaker, threw a wrench into that plan, though, by voting as a bloc to oppose tabling. Since Kucinich already has 22 co-sponsors for his bill, it was clear that the tabling gambit would fail. As soon as that became apparent, rank-and-file Democrats, unwilling to be seen by their constituents as defending Cheney, rushed to change their votes to opposing the tabling motion. In the end, tabling failed by 242 to 170 with 77 Democrats supporting a pleasantly surprised Kucinich.

Impeach Cheney Posters Going Up In All Cities Now

This week at the latest Democratic presidential debate Kucinich was

compelled to make a statement about impeachment, and Blitzer quickly

tried to shut him up. They have time to plant fatuous "diamonds or

pearls" questions, to trivialize our national discourse, but not to

confront the most pressing issue of all. They have time to pick petty

dog and cat fights between the so-called front runners, but not to

talk about the biggest elephants in the room.

Well . . . Kucinich would not shut up about the mandatory urgency of

stopping the current White House constitutional train wreck. The in

studio debate audience roared with approval. And we're not going to

shut up either.

We clearly recognize that what is required now is not just continue

to speak out ourselves, but to dedicate as much energy as possible

into expanding the circle of activism, to reach out to people who are

not already engaged in the impeachment movement.

That is why we are throwing everything we have right now into putting

up 11x17 full color glossy posters on colleges all over the country

with the message, "If They Bomb Iran You Get Drafted". Thanks to your

kind support we have already printed 50,000 of these, with most of

those already shipped out to valiant volunteers to put up on college

campuses, literally all over the country. If you have not already

seen the poster, please go to this page.

Impeach Cheney Posters:

http://www.usalone.com/impeach_cheney_flyer.php

A couple weeks ago, we told you our goal was to distribute 100,000 of

these posters, and we're half way there. With your help, we want to

commit for another 25,000 this week alone. With your help we will get

each and every one of this attention grabbing posters out there

recruiting more and more voices to speak out.

Are you anywhere near a college campus and would you like some

posters to put up yourself? We already have upwards of a thousand

volunteers doing this but we still need more. Just submit the form on

the page above and you can request as you many will actually put out.

Can you make a contribution to help in this initiative? We don't mind

telling you we've dropped nearly $10,000 already at the Post Office

just shipping these posters out all over the country. Can you make a

contribution to help us keep expanding the movement? If so please use

this same page again to do that.

Impeach Cheney Posters:

http://www.usalone.com/impeach_cheney_flyer.php

If you can't make a contribution, that's OK too. Just email us back

and tell us you want to help and we'll send you whatever you need.

In fact, on the same page above, there is also a downloadable

printable pdf of the flyer in 8-1/2 by 11 size, you can print out on

your own printer to use for flyers to hand out, or to start posting

yourself immediately.

Remember, if you make any kind of contribution at all you

automatically get one of the Impeach Cheney? caps we've been handing

out all summer. If you already have one give one to an activist

friend. They make great holiday gifts!

And remember also, a contribution is not required to get an

impeachment cap either. Again, just email us back with a mailing

address and request one for no charge and we will just send you one,

as we've been doing all along.

Encourge Kucinich To Keep Speaking Out

Have you noticed the biggest progressive talk radio stars pushing for

action on impeachment on their shows every day? All this is happening

because of the courageous leadership of Dennis Kucinich in bringing a

privileged resolution the other week, because again, he would not be

silent. Let Dennis know you are with him on the issue of impeachment.

If you can, make a contribution to encourage him to keep the heat on,

all winter if necessary.

Kucinich Donations:
http://www.usalone.com/donations_kucinich.php

Please take action NOW, so we can win all victories that are supposed

to be ours, and forward this alert as widely as possible.

If you would like to get alerts like these, you can do so at

COLUMBUS, Ga. -- Democratic presidential hopeful Dennis Kucinich said Sunday the thinking that went into producing an Army school blamed for human rights abuses in Latin America was the same that led the U.S. to war in Iraq and could cause it to raid Iran.

To my mind, Dennis Kucinich is better suited to represent the people than any of the other candidates in the field. However, the democratic leadership will never permit Kucinich to win the party nomination because he would undermine their authority and threaten the established orthodoxy that controls the system.

Certainly it's possible that proponents of conviction in the Senate would not be able to convince the 16 or 17 Republican necessary to win a conviction and removal from office, but it wouldn't matter at that point. The Bush administration would stand condemned for all time as a gang of criminals and usurpers.

Urge Representative Dennis J. Kucinich to fill out the Political Courage Test

Dennis Kucinich took the test once:

On an attached page, disk, or via email, please explain in a total of 75 words or less, your top two or three priorities if elected. If they require additional funding for implementation, please explain how you would obtain this funding.

We must pass the Medicare for All Act, the only bill in Congress that would guarantee access to medical care for every American. We must also end the war in Iraq and bring the troops home. To that end, I have developed an exit strategy. We must protect Social Security, a sound program, from the political forces engineering a "crisis" in an effort to privatize and gain control of the retirement security of senior citizens.

The California reports said the scientists, acting at the state’s request, had hacked into systems from three of the four largest companies in the business: Diebold Election Systems, Hart InterCivic and Sequoia Voting Systems.

Thousands of their machines in varying setups are in use.

The reports said the investigators had created situations for each system “in which these weaknesses could be exploited to affect the correct recording, reporting and tallying of votes.”

In an interview with Fortune Magazine’s Nina Easton, Dick Cheney conceded that as Halliburton CEO he opposed unilateral sanctions on Iran, even though he now strongly supports them. Cheney explained that as a private sector official, he didn’t have any responsibility to be concerned about the impact of his company’s dealings with Iran:

Q: You opposed unilateral sanctions on Iran when you were CEO of Halliburton.

THE VICE PRESIDENT: I did.

11/28/07 "ICH' --- - As has been consistently reported by the real American news media, the Internet, a vast majority of Americans want the war in Iraq ended, and also want Cheney, the real head of the Executive Branch, along with his puppet, George W. Bush, impeached. It is the belief of this writer that no president in American history is not only more disliked, but is actually more hated by the majority of Americans. The lies that got US into a war of invasion and mass murder of innocent, unarmed people perpetrated under the guise of “bringing them freedom and democracy” is the cruelest of absurdities, and totally un-American.

The congressman from Ohio focused on the theme “Defending the Constitution” during the 90-minute event on New Hampshire public access television and the Internet.

“If you give me your vote, I’ll give you your country back,” he said.

He spoke at length about his desire to protect First Amendment rights and his desire to impeach Vice President Dick Cheney for leading the country to war, a motion that is now sitting in congressional committee. If citizens wanted to help speed up the impeachment process, Mr. Kucinich urged them to contact their member of Congress, the House Judiciary Committee and House leaders.

One member of the audience of about 200 asked him why health care isn’t mandated by the Constitution.

“Well, I just happen to have my copy of the Constitution with me,” Mr. Kucinich replied. He pulled it out from his pocket and read aloud the Preamble — emphasizing the line “promote the general welfare.” Health and welfare are almost synonymous, he said before detailing his plan to make the health care system not for profit. Every American would receive free medical and dental care under his plan.
