http://prisonersdilemma.groenefee.nl/ The handy applet does not work when I browse with Windows Internet Explorer. It works when I use Mozilla Firefox. Defecting sounds harmless and good; perhaps. I would have used the word deceive. A defector is someone who agrees to cooperate and then does not cooperate. That appears to coincide with the division between political (defector) and earner (cooperator), where, if you can follow this line of thought defectors intend to profit at the expense of cooperators and cooperators merely want to ‘defect’ from ‘defectors’ and by doing so they manage to cooperate with other cooperators. The bottom line, it seems, and is reinforced by the whole ‘prisoner’s dilemma’ explanation of ‘game theory’ that the cause of the problem is the choice to defect (meaning – to deceive and pretend to cooperate while doing the opposite). The introduction of falsehood is the problem. It is probably very instructive to point out that half of ‘game theory’ (the defector half) was utilized by the founders of neo-conservative politicians, Strauss I think, and I can point that out now with a Google Search. http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article17371.htm I found it in the free media "Fuck you buddy" is half of game theory. He said as long as there is private control over the economic system, talk about democracy is a joke. http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article19001.htm That is a 'way' of supporting the 'free market' of economic systems. No one or even one group has the power to enforce (by fraud or violence) an economic system; such as what I call The Interest/Profit/Wage Paying/Limited Liability/Corporate/Nation State System. If all the economic systems are free to compete for the largest 'market share' (the force of popularity or the force of agreement), then, the most accurate and cost-less system will edge out every cost-more system. In other words the systems designed to victimize people will lose their power; hence – the term ‘democracy’. Democracy is defamed and discredited when the bad guys pretend to be supporting ‘democracy’ as they define democracy to be exactly the same definition as crime where someone (the majority) victimizes innocence (the minority). Falsehood is the enemy and if the paper trail of falsehood is followed to the source it will arrive in the mirror. That is the closed loop that removes all the power of the good people who, otherwise (without falsehood), would avoid harming each other, on purpose, for profit (accidental harm cannot be removed from the human condition). In other words; nobody is perfect but we do not have to be criminals. We do not 'have to' be defectors. We can be cooperators.
