Trying here: Contact Book Baby To whom it may concern, I have a Microsoft Word File book, already written, but needing the right format, to turn the book into a number of test copies, a prototype set of copies to then hand out and find out if the book is good enough as it is to then sell it in print and in digital form. I like writing. I don't like talking so much, or chatting, and I don't like having to search for my answers on Web Pages, so this is me asking for help this way. What kind of personalized help am I going to get with your company? Joe

Response: Thanks for the email! You need to make sure you get your book into the correct template for the trim size you are interested in printing. There is a link for our templates page on the top of most of our sites. The first step you need to take would be to create a quote on our website. You can create a quote and sign up for an account on our site, here: http://print.bookbaby.com/Default.aspx You need to select all the options you want for your book and include the quantity and page count as well on the right hand side. The price is going to be set up on the bottom right hand side. Once you create the quote and sign in or sign up for an account, the quote will be saved in your account. At that point you will be able to download the template for your book content and book cover. You will then need to upload the actual book content and book cover in PDF format to our site. If you have any further questions during the process, feel free to email or call us back at 866-905-2446.

Book price quote
Price $518.00 Shipping $19.75 Sub Total $537.75 Sent to Book Baby: I have a quote from Book Masters for 88.00 for 10 books, and I can then add more books if I like the first 10. Since this is my first book I want to have a small number of prototype copies made, to hand out, to get feedback, and to revise if needed, before moving to marketing, and I do want to move into e-book marketing. Your web site appears to offer a lot more help on taking each necessary step compared to Book Masters; however the price is also significantly higher for a prototype book. I'm looking for a one stop place to accommodate all my printing/marketing needs, if possible, and I may have more books to print if a demand for my writing does exist. I will try to find the template needed from your web page to then be able to see the next step required if I can afford this purchase. I have other questions concerning the addition of another page, having to do with references to web pages placed in an index, including a QR code that will load a web page where web links are listed. The copy of the book I already have is a Word Document File with url links in the text, so that may work well (I don't know yet) with an e-book, but not so well with a printed book on paper. Joe

Brady, I am going to print a small number of copies first, then as a prototype/feedback issue of the book will be a step that will help in further steps such as marketing both print versions and e-book versions. I could, conceivably, take this first step by printing from my office printers, but my thinking is to find a Printer Service that can be relied upon if, or when, my book publishing efforts work out in time. I also have the idea that this unique book idea will open the door for many further publications. I am looking for a one stop Printer service covering all my needs. At this point I will find the time, eventually, to get my book formatted into a format that is acceptable to a printer service, pay for a small number of copies, then begin the process of perfecting that first book before even thinking about investing in more print copies, and before even thinking about investing in marketing e-books. Work and family business delayed my progress in this book printing venture, but you are the only one, so far, following up my earlier efforts to shop for just the right Printing Service.
