Bacevich Bacevich, historian, Vietnam Vet, and conservative, has been a fascinating figure in these last years. He himself is almost single-handedly in the process of reclaiming our history for us. His most recent book on how the neocons fell in love with American military might, The New American Militarism, is simply a must-have for any political library. To read more on Bacevich's views and experiences, check out his interview at Tomdispatch Tom I have no reason to continue sending challenges to Tom and therefore the latest current news from that source will remain unchallenged formally. This effort is an informal challenge. Who knows; maybe someday Tom will entertain something that challenges his version of current events and he may then volunteer to defend his publicly published propaganda. The convenience of having a current enemy in power is a cause reaching for something and it isn't noble. I write propaganda too):  History is propaganda. The individual historian must separate the facts from the fiction. The Waco Museum people have been sent offers to publish CD copies of the original "Waco the Big Lie" tapes, from me, and they have not responded. The above picture is a digital image copied from that VCR tape. The noble cause, apparently, was another regime change. Out with the religious gun owners and in with the flame throwing tanks. One might want to remember that history does tend to repeat itself even while the historians forget or distort history; on purpose.
