Supercharger Stations

170 Miles of fuel in 20 minutes for free?

Will it always be free?

Yes, Superchargers will be free to use for Supercharging-enabled vehicles for the life of Model S.

If (or when) "energy" prices go up (petroleum/oil) and when "solar energy" (electricity made competitive = less expensively) prices go down, the gasoline powered vehicles may become less and less attractive (more and more expensive to run) and what then happens to all those oil powered car manufactures?

In Formula 1 they are now using devices that convert heat into electricity.

Put those things together.

One more thing:

Solar Roads

Add to that the charging of batteries with braking systems: you use the brakes to slow the car down and that momentum of mass in motion is converted back into electricity.

Solar/Heat (black top roads are hot)/Inertia/Electricity/POWER

Note:
Very good example of the difference between Energy and Power.

Electric Storage (Batteries) are rated as:

1.
Energy Density (how much energy is in storage for the space the energy is stored in)

2.
Power Density (how fast or slow the energy can be put into or taken out of the place where the specific storage place size)

So energy is again not as good a word as power since power offers more specific information having to do with time.

Energy is less specific with time compared to power being more specific to time.
