Acknowledging the facts could turn someone around and instead of ignorantly supporting those crimes with material support in the form of earnings (surplus wealth or Power to Purchase) the person acknowledges that support flowing in that way. And instead of doing nothing to stop that power flowing that way, the then aware person having acknowledged the facts, can begin to work to stop supporting those crimes in those ways.

Broke into another separate sentence and added italics:
