Power-Independence intends to address both the Battery or Storage of Value problem and the Currency problem. The Battery problem or from another angle; the Insurance against loss problem - is such: What stores the most value in the most efficient manner? The currency problem is much more complicated, and yet, it is a very similar problem: What flows best? The similarities can be described as: What is the most accurate form of money? The differences between the Battery and the Currency problem can be seen as: Can one form of money store the most value and at the same time flow best? The answer is a definitive - YES. The reader may not find my questions to be relevant and the reader may not find my answers to be comprehensible. My assumption is that the reader can at least count. How many times has the reader happened upon a situation whereby the reader counts on his fellow man, or woman, to help in the effort to supply both the necessities of life and the wants that make life worth living? One? Two? Does that make three? The Great Depression, or any depression for that matter, is a rather depressing subject. Perhaps not for those who waste not and want not. Perhaps for those who have failed to count accurately, or for those who have simply run out of luck, once or twice, the Great Depression may interest them; us. Owning gold can be made into a crime. One might say: "That is preposterous!" Note the exclamation point. I don't use those expressions often. Nuclear holocaust No exclamation point. Who cares? When judgment day arrives the chips will have fallen. Too little – too late The human experiment failed the math test. Back to the drawing board Money that contains energy can be both an efficient storage of value and a very fluid transferring value. Oil, hydrogen, and electricity are forms of energy that can be very accurate forms of money. Those forms of energy can be measured precisely as both Energy and Power – Both Storage and Currency. Example: I kilogram (2.2 lb) of hydrogen has about the same energy as 1 U.S. gallon of gasoline. http://www.rmi.org/images/other/Energy/E03-05_20HydrogenMyths.pdf Gasoline 42 – 44 MJ/kg http://www.uvi.edu/Physics/SCI3xxWeb/Energy/GasolineFAQ.html This one is better: http://www.evworld.com/library/energy_numbers.pdf gallon of gasoline 1.3x10^8 Jules Equivalent (S.I.) Note from Albert Einstein: · "Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius -- and a lot of courage -- to move in the opposite direction." The point is: Energy, Power, and Current, can be measured in one standard unit. Pick one. Use one. Don’t lose it. Don’t waste time and effort converting, pricing, negotiating, arguing, deceiving, obfuscating, bickering, devaluing, depressing, augmenting, adjusting, keystonning, profiting, gouging, leveraging, hording, wasting, spending, saving, investing, marking up, marking down, bargaining, estimating, accounting, taxing, re-measuring, re-adjusting, etc. Don’t waste time and energy. Measure twice and cut once. What helps is a standard measure. Pick one. I suggest the watt. It takes this many watts to earn a pay check. It takes that many watts to produce one ear of corn. One dollar equals x amount of watts. One gold bar is now worth so many watts. Last year my heating cost is half the number of watts as the previous year. The new HHO gas unit in my car reduces the cost of fuel by half as many watts. The problem will be solved with a standard measure of Energy that is also a standard measure of currency, which is also a standard measure of work, which is also a standard measure of value, which is also a standard measure of savings, which is also a standard measure of investment, which is also a standard measure of interest, which is also a standard measure of profit, which is also a standard measure of equity, which is also a standard measure of justice, which is also a standard measure of cooperation, which is also a standard measure of payment toward insurance against loss, which is also a standard measure of liquidity, which is also a standard measure of gouging, hoarding, taking, leveraging, dumping, extorting, enslaving, mastering, deceiving, conning, fraud, debasing, depreciating, inflating, inciting, propagandizing, crime, raping, murdering, and last but not least torturing. One less human being can be estimated as a loss of watts. Some may have a larger appendage than others. Some may create less friction than others. The standard by which one is measured can be standardized. Once the standard is universal, then, everyone will be on the same page. Diversity will be destroyed! We all become one and the same! On that exclamation point I end this effort with a note: The demand to conform will be eliminated once the human race is linked by a commonly embraced standard measure of value. At that point, if we do learn to count, the demand for diversity will be in short supply. People will want more diversity and less conformity. The State will struggle and Liberty will be the order of the day.
