A deliberate choice to mislead a target without notification so as to effect a transfer of power from the target to the employer of the device.
The reason why I find it useful to add that to the definition has to do with my overall perspective of life as a power struggle.
The definition without the addition still works, I suppose, from a perspective that does not employ power as a measuring tool, but since that is how I see things, the addition adds that method of seeing/measuring.
