Listening to Alex Jones and Paul Craig Roberts 06-22-2011 Direct Democracy? I am no fan of the Constitution; however there is before me, a competition, the lesser of two evils. I prefer a third choice, a non-evil choice. 1. The Constitution (Nationalism, or a Consolidated Government) 2. Direct Democracy How does one person get from 1 to 2? I am one person. I say no to both. I don't pick between those two evils. What do you pick? Do you pick 1, The Constitution, and how do you stop other people from picking 2? Do you pick 2, Direct Democracy, and how do you get what you pick? I think that The Bill of Rights potentially offer a road back in the direction of liberty, so as to move power back to the honest productive people of American who create power, and slow down, and stop, the flow of power to the legal criminals. I think that Trial by Jury potentially offers a road back in the direction of liberty, so as to move power back to the honest productive people of America who create power, and slow down, and stop, the flow of power to the legal criminals. Direct Democracy to me is a lie, it is a false step, and if someone thinks otherwise, they can support their opinion with reason, logic, and some measure of support, such as: http://www.outpost-of-freedom.com/jimbellap.htm That is one of the best explanations of how direct democracy can work in modern times. That is a modern example of mob rule, as it could gain traction, gain currency, become fashionable, become powerful, and overpower the current regime, and overrule current forms of law, as it reached critical mass, and exploded as a force of greater power, eliminating all competitive powers, and once that genie is out of the bottle, heaven forbid, God help us, because we will no longer have the power to help ourselves. That is my opinion of direct democracy, where it leads, and why it is a false step. Combining individual power without moral conscious is a false step, and if direct democracy can be invented, constructed, and maintained by including moral conscious in the combination of individual power, then someone will have to explain how that works to me. What is the first step on that path to direct democracy? I can explain exactly what must be done to return to liberty, step, by step, on that road, and the first step is to cut the flow of power flowing from the honest productive people as that power flows to the legal criminals who then employ that power to increase the rate of that flow of power. Two legal financial products can accomplish that goal, and I can explain each step on the way to reaching that goal, in time, and in place. Can the proponents of direct democracy offer a similar step by step method of arriving at that goal? You tell me.
