http://www.lewrockwell.com/margolis/margolis67.htmlTime is running out for the pro-war neocons Time is running out for dollar hegemony. True colors:
The real neocon objective, of course, is not to rid the world of a potential threat, but to get America into attacking and seriously damaging the nation now regarded as Israel’s primary foe, Iran. With Egypt sidelined and under tight US control, Iraq demolished and occupied, Syria isolated and petrified, only Iran remains a threat to Israel and seriously challenges its continued occupation of Jerusalem and the West Bank. Reality check. The real objective: Control the flow of oil and thereby control the strength of the dollar as the world's reserve currency. If the control of the flow of oil is not secured, then, the dollar will have to compete without the control of oil. What does that mean? A. The dollar can compete because something other than oil (and military might) backs the dollar value. B. The dollar cannot compete and the reserve status, and all that goes with it, vanishes. What is ‘all that goes with it’ mean? This is simple supply and demand economics. There is always a demand for currency until such time as there is no demand for currency. Who does not want currency? Which currency will people want? A. Any currency will do B. The reserve currency C. The next best thing instead of the reserve currency Confused? Which currency gives you the most bang for the buck? Answer: The world’s reserve currency Who will settle for less? A. The people without oil B. The people without the greatest military might C. The people without power What is oil? What is military might? Answer: Power Who on this planet is power-independent? Answer: Not the Iranians. Last edited on Tue Feb 6th, 2007 03:06 pm by Joe Kelley |
