The power to purchase can be utilized to purchase more power producing products. That makes more power and more power can be utlized to purchase more power producing products. The sky is the limit and that is literally true. The Sun supplies the power. Once the power supply reaches over-supply the cost of power will reach zero while purchasing power increases because the cost of production is reduced with power. That writer suggests a spending strike like cutting off our noses to spite our faces. It makes no sense unless the viewpoint is 'political' as if extortion were a game of one up manship.
