I can also write, and formulate a response.
The viewpoint offered by me to you has nothing to do with giving up any so called "rights" of privacy whatsoever, and yet that viewpoint is the viewpoint you "believe,' in this context that we are both viewing.
"The real problem is we want our right to protect our freedom and we want to have transparency. You can not have both. What freedom will you trade for safety? There is a price for both."
If the Elephant that you refuse to acknowledge was not in the room shitting on everything, stomping everything that can be stomped, then what would your words mean, if that Elephant - that you refuse to acknowledge - was not in the room?
The symptom you describe is a DEAL offered by some unaccounted for, invisible, power, whereby that invisible power (that you refuse to acknowledge as even existing) offers you Evil A, or Evil B, and you describe that DEAL thusly:

In reality the concept of peaceful (sane) society is - in demonstrable fact - transparency so as to maintain freedom.
The dirty deal dealt to you by the invisible Elephant is nothing but fiction and you buy into it like a cult member: drinking the cool-aid, and who pays for that error, who pays for that criminal negligence on your part?
I'm asking, seriously.
I don't want to unload on you only, the information offered applies to everyone all the time. Responsibility is individual, or there is no responsibility.
If there is no accusation of wrongdoing against you, then the wrong done to you, if you are subjected to search or seizure of so called "private" stuff, then the error, the dirty deal, the responsibility, and the accountability for doing something wrong (wasting your time, getting in your personal business without any reasonable "probable" cause) is accountable to the individual who is responsible for that willful, criminal, attack, upon you personally. That is probably why a known common law judge was signing the warrant which identifies the judge as the responsible individual in that individual case of search and seizure.
If there is an accusation against you, and you are perfectly innocent, as far as you know, then why would you, or anyone else for that matter, "justify" you hiding, secreting, censoring, information, or anything, from those who are volunteering to effectively protect the innocent from the guilty?
"We" are not all on the same team: there is an Elephant in the room, and it is insane.
There is - even if you refuse to acknowledge it - an Elephant in the room: which then inspires reaction to that Elephant in such forms as a so called 5th Amendment, and so called Miranda Rights, and so called "Doctor/Patient Privilege," or whatnot.
If the Elephant has a badge, and the Elephant is known to crush everything underfoot, because that is the known nature of the Elephant, then keeping your business secreted from the Elephant is a reasonable action taken by someone who reasonably does not want to be consumed by the raging, insane, Elephant.
