So, at some point, at least this has happened to me, the idea of slowing down and being more deliberate, so as to avoid taking two steps back for every step forward, appears to be a good, competitive, next step.
I fixed the quoting on page 49. No word back from the printer yet.
My brother, his wife, and their 2 kids have recently moved, and it is taking them months to get out of one house and into another.
If you can do that in 2 weeks, then you earn a few gold stars?
I received a response from Bookmasters. Here it is:
Hello Joe, From what I can tell given my limited software, everything looks good except for some fonts that are not embedded. Our pre-flight check will be the final test to ensure there are no issues that would effect print quality. The QR code should not be an issue if it works from your home printer and cell phone. We would produce it as is without any changes.

Thanks for the quick response. I will try to find out why some fonts are not embedded, and how to embed them. I am new to this and my help is very busy moving.

I can't replace your viewpoint on the status of the book, no matter how many times I read the book looking for errors to correct, or improvements to make, since I have only my own eye (one is lazy and does not work right) to see.
I am almost through another reading and I found only that quotation mark error this time around. I can read again, and I can reach my own state of satisfaction that the book is free from errors, as far as my eye can see, so far.
I do have experience writing, and then publishing, or submitting articles, and then later realizing that there was an error here and there.
Embedding files with Word
That is what I have found so far.
I just tried in Word: Save AS, then PDF, then options for PDF, click the box for
ISO 19005 -1 compliant (PDF/A), and then save the file.
Open the PDF with Adobe Reader, look in properties, then fonts, then notice how all the fonts now say (Embedded Subset), where they were not all Embedded according to the Adobe Reader/File/Properties/Font when saving from Word without checking the ISO 19005 -1 compliant (PDF/A) box.
So....
I updated my e-mail to Bookmasters as such:
I don't know if this is a new phenomenon called e-mail tag (like phone tag), but I want to add to my last e-mail with a report on my finding how to check embedded fonts and use the PDF Save Option in Word: ISO 19005 -1 compliant (PDF/A). Rechecking Adobe Reader Properties I now see all Fonts listed as (Embedded Subset). I can now look through the book again to see if I can find any more errors.
