bear, No word yet back from Bookmasters, but it is the weekend so I am giving them until Monday, before I respond, actually it is early Monday right now. I started just now on re-reading the .pdf file and I found this: Acknowledgments .............................................................................. vii Foreword ........................................................................................... viii Introduction ......................................................................................... xi That (above) is cut and pasted from the .pdf The cut and paste below is an edit I did to the word file, to match up the numbering as it should be when each page (even blank pages) are Roman Numerals? I won't try to convert the word file to .pdf unless you respond with the OK to do so, along with a reminder on how to do it, or where I need to go to get the instructions on how to convert. I am also keeping track of any other things I may yet find. Acknowledgments......................................................................................... vi Foreword...................................................................................................... viii Introduction.................................................................................................... ix I will finish the book after I ready your response here. I am on page 86. I have found no other errors and I am checking to make sure the footnotes are the same footnote numbers on the Index page here on this forum. No errors there either. I checked my e-mail and Bookmasters sent me a note. I replied with these words (just now): Ryan, I am not one for phone calls. My thinking works better in type, so I type. 100 copies, how much? I have found only 2 errors in my latest reading of the .pdf file for the book, and I will finish reading through the text today. I may be able to send the completed .pdf file for submission before this Friday; possibly sooner. Does your company have methods of proofing the text files before running 100 copies? I will be needing help selling the book. Does your company deal in digital marketing? Joe Page 144 "The Other Founders About the book: "The struggle over the U.S. Constitution in 1788 pitted The 1 above (before 788) is a footnote (small raised symbol) not a number. I can change that now in the word file. I noticed that my word file was left open on my computer, so it is possible that other things were changed while I was monkeying around with other open windows. I really think, at this point, that it would be a good idea for bear (Editor in Chief) to make these few changes to her copy of the Word file, then reformat in .pdf, and then resend the .pdf (checking or not checking through the file one more time on your own) while I check, or not, one more time too. Bookmasters, I see now, have responded. bear, Here is the reply from Bookmasters: Hello Joe, I have to wait on print pricing until I get the quote back from estimating. We can proofread before going print but in order to quote you on this service I need a sample chapter for the editorial director to review. For proofreading we have 3 levels: light, moderate and heavy. The sample will help determine the level needed for your book. We do offer marketing services. I'd like to know a little about your book. Are you doing anything is market it currently? Do you have a distributor? What are your goals for your book(s)? Are you currently utilizing social media? Thank you, I am wondering if you think it is a good idea to have your e-mail address added to this negotiating process. I don't want to suggest that I think you should, because I don't, I think that the offer is worth offering, so as to allow you the opportunity to decide what is best for bear, and family. My costs of printing will be mine, exclusively, since I am in charge of my book selling, but I do appreciate help, when help arrives from wherever help originates. I can cut and paste these messages that constitute the process of book selling here, too, and be happy with any help that you may be able to offer. As far as these words, that are yours and mine, again, the realization of any income above costs are split 50/50, as far as I am concerned. That was an old offer still standing that way. I still have more reading to do, and I am going to think about my answer (my reply) to the latest e-mail from Bookmasters. They have not yet sent a price for 100 prototype copies of the book. What happens in the event that the printer receives a file that is in some way altered while the file is under their control, and then the 100 books are misprinted?
