The monopoly of "legal" professionals dates back further than one of the many labels (communist) covering up the fact that they are criminals.
The label (communist) may still work, as a cover, and may work as a cover in the future, but it, the word, is no different in principle, than the last one, or the next one, as a cover.
Frank is describing a split among the most powerful in the form of the Jesuits aligning opposite the Illuminati. as if the labels are of some principled meaning, one side being good, or not as bad, as the other side, as if one can win and things will be better, and the other can win, and things will be worse.
I see no such thing. I think both sides are maneuvered to be sides by an un-named other group having some power over both sides.

My understanding fits these pieces into a useable form as a Power Struggle among those who have the most POWER.
